It see,s that award season for True Detective isn’t quite over. Last summer began a, frankly, fairly impressive losing streak for True Detective award shows. Even though aspects of True Detective were able to take home awards, the actors themselves remained empty-handed throughout the entire season.

Although this won’t quite make up for that, it’s still nice to see recognition for True Detective’s first season. True Detective has one last shot at award, as it was just nominated for Best Foreign TV at the BAFTA’s. True Detective joins other nominees The Good Wife, Orange is the New Black, and House of Cards.

It’s a tough category, to be sure. All of the other dramas involved are worthy in their own right, and considering the spectacular losing streak True Detective was just on we’re going to forgo discussing its chances for now. At least True Detective was able to pull in a slew of awards from the smaller, individual guilds.

The BAFTA’s — (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) recognize the best in British film and television, including films and tv that were at least co-financed by Britain. America usually doesn’t take much interest in the ceremony, so don’t expect the same sort of coverage and media blitz that we get for the Emmy’s, Oscars, or SAG awards.

This particular part of BAFTA, which will be focusing solely on television, will take place on May 10th. You can see a full list of nominees over at The Guardian.
