There’s not really any other way to put it, this was a huge week for True Detective. HBO released not only True Detective season two’s premiere date, but also the first teaser trailer. In it we got several great looks at all four of our leads — Colin Farrell, Rachel McAdams, Taylor Kitsch, and Vince Vaughn.
And any doubts that were had over Vince Vaughn’s dramatic skills quickly began to fade away.
Let’s begin.
- First up, we discussed if it’s time to finally give up on that True Detective soundtrack. In other True Detective soundtrack news, it seems that T. Bone Burnett may be returning for season two after all.
- HBO had a nice week of launches this week as it finally pressed start on its cord-cutting streaming service, HBO Now, while also becoming available for Sling TV users.
- Award season isn’t quite over for True Detective as it was just nominated for a BAFTA. We don’t want to jinx anything, so we’ll leave it at that.
- True Detective season two actor Kelly Reilly will be hitting the New York stage with Clive Owen and we saw some new photos of Colin Farrell. But all that pales in comparison to the main event!
- And the big news: The True Detective season two premiere date! and teaser analyzation! Get yourself informed, people! Also, get hype. Lots of hype.
- True Detective made its return to Twitter, leaving us to wonder if we’ll finally see some meaningful fan interaction. And speaking of fans, the first True Detective season two spoof hit the scene.
And there you have it. It was a momentous week for True Detective. With season two coming in June, we should be getting a lot more details before then. And as always, if you’re doing anything even slightly True Detective related this weekend, let us know on Twitter or Facebook!
