True Detective Season Two Trailer Made its TV Debut Before Game of Thrones
We have been busy talking about True Detective all week, but last night was the premiere of Game of Thrones’ fifth season. And as we all know, Game of Thrones is quite an event. With that in mind it came as no real surprise to see that brand new True Detective teaser trailer just before Game of Thrones started.

It was a good idea to pair the teaser with Game of Thrones, HBO’s biggest show of all time. It guaranteed that the maximum amount of people would see it, especially those that aren’t especially plugged in and may have missed the reveal last week.
Not too long ago we pondered over what sort of reveal HBO would give True Detective’s first teaser trailer, and being paired with Game of Thrones is about as reasonable an expectation as we could have. Any trailer shown with Game of Thrones last night would have been seen by millions.
You can count it as the beginning of HBO’s promo push for True Detective season two. True Detective‘s second season will premiere in June, and between now and then we’ll get at least one full trailer. And the of course the requisite billboards and other ad-space. The countdown to True Detective’s second season has officially begun, so get ready.
And in case you somehow missed it — or can’t get enough — here it is again.
