YouTube user oskararnarson is the hero that every Matthew McConaughey and Star Wars fan needs. The clip, which you can check out below, splices footage from an emotional moment in Interstellar with the just released Star Wars trailer.
What we’re left with is something so sublimely perfect. Not only does it speak to the Star Wars nerd deep within all our hearts, but it’s just so well done. There’s something great about its simplicity, much in the same way that there is about that Matthew McConaughey clip staring at the rain for an hour.
It just works. Really well.
There’s also something very Matthew McConaughey about the whole thing even though he doesn’t directly really have anything to do with it. It’s not this scene actually occurs in Interstellar, but it should, because it’s great.
The full-on breakdown is especially fantastic. It’s perfectly coped from one of Interstellar’s most impactful scenes, but there aren’t any real spoilers in case you haven’t gotten a chance to see it yet.
