We are now living in a post-True Detective trailer world. Everything is different, nothing is the same. Colors are a bit brighter and food tastes a little better. At least to us it does, anyway. The trailer is still the big news this week, but a few other times manages to sneak in. We also welcomed a new writer!

Let’s begin.

True Detective‘s Executive Producer, Richard Brow, gave a very interesting interview to Forbes. Definitely worth a read this weekend.
The True Detective trailer made its television debut last Sunday before the fifth season premiere of Game of Thrones. It was a great way to get the trailer in front of people who may not have been in the know.
True Detective director Cary Fukunaga will be adapting The Alienist for television, though the deal is in its early days and an outlet hasn’t been announced.
Chicago’s incredible The Second City improv group did a fantastic send-up of True Detective called “True Dadtective.” We also got see just how Matthew McConaughey felt about that new Star Wars trailer.
True Detective won’t be taking home a Peabody Award, but there’s always next time. We’ll see what our new leads can do.
And finally our new writer, Matt Pierce, took a look at the possible narrative structure of True Detective’s second season.
