True Detective Season Two Motion Posters are Here

We recently got our first taste of True Detective through the season’s first teaser trailer. We’ve poured over that trailer, and worst case scenario we won’t be waiting too much longer for more considering the season will premiere in June. But today we got another small taste of the sort of tone we can expect from True Detective.

HBO today release two “motion posters” to further tantalize fans. In case you’re unfamiliar with the term, a motion poster is a digital poster that acts more like a looped gif. The first comes courtesy of Yahoo, and the second Entertainment Weekly.

The posters themselves are definitely ominous which bodes well for True Detective season two. These aren’t worlds of happiness and sunshine, after all. Both posters feature the same message: “We Get the World we Deserve.” Sounds like there’s going to be some sort of reckoning.

You can see the two posters below, one featuring a hypnotizing California highway and the other appears to be the underpass of perhaps the same highway. It would offer a nice duality if that’s the case. As both posters advertise, True Detective’s second season will kick off on June 21st.

Again, the True Detective twitter account is advertised which speaks to plans to use Twitter as a heavy promotional outlet. That hasn’t yet come to pass, but we’ll see.
