Vince Vaughn has Two Dramas in the Pipeline
Before the teaser for True Detective season two dropped, there was a substantial amount of discussion as to whether or not Vince Vaughn would be able to pull of a dramatic role. Of course, True Detective isn’t Vince Vaughn’s first drama, but it is his first in a long time. Long enough that many people have forgotten that it was something that he ever did.

A few months back Vince Vaughn changed representation, and we wondered whether or not this would coincide with a switch to more dramatic features. Taking a look at his upcoming projects, that does appear to be the case.
Later this year Vince Vaughn will be starring in Term Life, a dramatic movie based on a graphic novel about a man who is on the mob’s radar trying to have his life insurance kick in for his daughter before he gets killed. Drama bomb, indeed.
But the next is a film that’s still in its infancy. Vince Vaughn will be heading up a movie adaptation of The Rockford Files, which Deadline reported back in April was getting a re-write. The Rockford Files originally came up in February, when Vince Vaughn first started talking about his role on True Detective.
It was developing The Rockford Files that eventually led Vince Vaughn to True Detective’s writer and creator, Nic Pizzolatto. Although we don’t agree that pressure should be put on Vince Vaughn before True Detective even airs, we are still curious to see what road his career will take in the future.
You may eventually be able to use True Detective as a marker in Vince Vaughn’s career, much like what you can do with Matthew McConaughey. We’re as ready as can be for Vince Vaughn to return to his dramatic roots, so we wish him all the luck in the world in that endeavor.
Next: You should watch the second season of True Detective live.
