It can sometimes be difficult for international fans when it comes to American productions. Usually there is a delay of some kind that creates a serious danger of spoilers. It appears that won’t be happening with True Detective thanks to a new simulcast announcement from Sky Atlantic.

Sky Atlantic announced that it will be airing the second season of True Detective in the UK at 2:00 AM GMT on June 22nd, which is when the episode will be airing in the states. The same episode will then air a second time at 9 PM that night for those that choose not to stay up.

Sky Atlantic previously announced that True Detective season two would be airing at a normal time on June 22nd, but this is a very welcome change. For those that are able to stay awake, anyway.

According to TV Wise, this is the second Sky Atlantic simulcast this year. The other, of course, was Game of Thrones. That fact perhaps speaks to the popularity of True Detective. It’s not on the same level as Game of Thrones when it comes to popularity, but the demand out there is great.

No doubt it has something to do with the cast, but it’s still nice to see. Now our friends in the UK will be able to be all caught up with True Detective so they won’t have to deftly dodge around spoilers on the internet. And it’s become a dangerous place out there.
