Watch this Excellent Tribute to True Detective Season Two (Video)

Despite the general attitude toward True Detective’s second season, there are fan out there that genuinely enjoyed it. These fans have begun to create — something that this fandom has always been adept at. The season has been over for less than a month, but if this is evident of the type of content we’ll be seeing in the future we’d gladly wait several months at a time for it.

YouTube user and True Detective fan Nykaje created what is so far the ultimate tribute to season two of True Detective. Titled “Never Lie Down,” the three a half minute clip takes us through the season following the main characters closely. Much like season two itself, it’s more about the characters than the actual case.

Perhaps it’s lacking bit when it comes to Ani Bezzerides, but that would be just about our only complaint.

Make no mistake, this video contains heavy spoilers. If you haven’t seen the last episode of True Detective season two yet, “Omega Station,” do not watch this. If you’re all caught up, this will probably make you just want to watch it all over again. It’s the best case for True Detective season two that we’ve seen so far. Edit out some of the more spoiler-y bits and it would make a better trailer than anything HBO produced.
