Poll: Did Fargo or True Detective Have a Better Season Premiere?

There’s a lot of talk about FX’s Fargo going on right now, and for good reason. Season two premiered earlier this week to rave reviews. Fargo’s showrunner, Noah Hawley, recently spoke about Fargo’s success and the unfortunate backlash to True Detective. It’s incredible how the two series have had polar opposite premiers.

So, for fun, we decided to throw a new poll together to find out which premiere True Detective fans thought was better. “The Western Book of the Dead” kicked off True Detective season two with a bang, but so did Fargo’s premiere, “Waiting for Dutch.” Regardless of the critical reception to both, which one really got the job done?

It should be noted, again, that we are fans of both Fargo and True Detective it’s allowed, trust us. It’s clear, however, that one season premiere was better than the other. To rule out those who may be too unsure to pick a side, however, we decided to forgo a “they were both great!” option. That’s right, folks, it’s a dog-eat-dog world and you have got to choose one.

If you haven’t watched the season premiere of Fargo, it’s recommended that you go ahead and do that before voting.

The season two premiere of True Detective is available on HBO GO and HBO Now, and will be available on Blu-ray in January. Not that it would help right now. Fargo’s premiere is available to those with FXNOW and can be purchased as an HD stream for free (!!) from Amazon, presumably for a limited time.

We’ll post the poll results next week. Get voting!
