Reviews for the True Detective Season Two Blu-Ray Have Rolled in
The Blu-Ray set for True Detective season two has been out for a little while, and the reviews are here.
Sometimes it feels like people still can’t stop talking about True Detective season two. The one person who has kept his lips sealed throughout the entire ordeal has been Nic Pizzolatto, but that doesn’t even register as semi-surprising. For those that have been waiting to give the second season of True Detective a second chance, the Blu-Ray has been out for a couple of weeks and now has a number of reviews.

The one takeaway from two of the major reviews that we’ve seen so far is that the “content” of season two is still a problem for many people. Both DVD Talk and Blu-ray have rated True Detective negatively in terms of the actual show. DVD Talk is the harsher of the two, but not by much.

Even with a couple of new negative reviews under its belt, we still believe that True Detective season two is experiencing a sort-of recovery. As more people get their hands on the season two set and give it the re-watch it deserves, it’s likely that we will see people either change their minds or at least be less harsh after revisiting it.
It was always going to be difficult, if not downright impossible, for True Detective season two to do as well as the first; the bar was just too high. Season three of True Detective is still expected but it has not been officially renewed and there is no reason to believe that it will come before 2017.
