Here’s a Trailer for Matthew McConaughey’s Kubo and the Two Strings (Video)
There’s a new trailer for one of two animated Matthew McConaughey projects.
Somehow, Matthew McConaugehy has gone through the majority of his career so far without being in an animated movie. Considering his unique cadence, it seems like it would have been more than obvious for him to have been in something before now.

All of those McConaugehy impressions coming in don’t exist for no reason, after all.
Out of the two animated movies coming out in 2016, Kubo and the Two Strings is the artier of the two. Done by the same studio behind the creepy and visually striking Coraline, Kubo has a lot going for it in the animation department.

Many animated movies tend to look the same these days, so it’s heartening to see something that doesn’t look like everything else. Matthew McConaughey comes in near the end, and perhaps even makes the trailer when he asks whether or not he has eyelids.
Unfortunately, it’s unlikely that this movie will be able to outshine the pedestrian-by-comparison Sing. There’s just not enough room for this sort of animated movie. It also seems to retain that sense of creepiness that the studio is known for and can be seen in their other films, ParaNroman and The Box Trolls.

Laika and the Two Strings is only one of many Matthew McConaughey projects to debut this year, and it will have to find a way to share the spotlight with, at the very least, Free State of Jones.
