New Character Posters Released for Woody Harrelson’s Triple 9 (Pic)
Promotion is starting to ramp up on Triple 9, the action thriller starring Woody Harrelson.
Triple 9 is a film with a pedigree. Besides being stuffed to the gills with stars, it also comes from director John Hilcoat, an indie director with a flair for bleak westerns. Just check out The Road or The Proposition to see an example of this. Hilcoat has taken on something a little different with Triple 9, but from what we’ve seen of it so far it still fits squarely within his wheelhouse.
Woody Harrelson is only one of the many stars in Triple 9. It is set to be a return to the action drama after his stint in The Hunger Games franchise, which recently wrapped up. New character posters for the film have been recently released, and you can see Woody Harrelson’s below thanks to an exclusive from Slash Film:

Menacing, no? Harrelson is set to play a Detective Sergeant that gets pulled into some dirty business. From the short glimpses we’ve gotten of him from the trailers he doesn’t look too displeased with that turn of events. This is the closest that Harrelson has gotten to True Detective since the first season ended, and it’s likely that Triple 9 will draw comparisons between the two.
Now that Harrelson is free from the constraints of the Hunger Games franchise, he will be able to be just as out there as Matthew McConaugehy has been with his role choices.. That should hopefully meant hat Harrelson gets a tad more press coverage– something with McConaugehy tends to hog to himself.
Next: The 2016 SAG Awards are tonight.
Not on purpose, of course.
