“San Andreas” is Getting a Sequel, and Alexandra Daddario Will Return
Natural disaster action flick San Andreas is returning, and Alexandra Daddario is along for the ride.
Discounting the revival of Matthew McConaughey’s career, Alexandra Daddario was the actor to benefit the most from being in the first season of True Detective. She said as much herself in the various interviews she gave after appearing as Lisa Tragnetti, Marty’s lover. The newfound attention even scored her a feature in GQ.
Alexandra Daddario went on to star in many other projects since True Detective, but one her most high-profile gig was the destruction-rific San Andreas, in which she co-starred with Dwayne Johnson. According to an exclusive report over at The Hollywood Reporter, a sequel to San Andreas is in the works, and both actors are set to return.

There are no plot details to speak of a this point, but it can be safely assumed that there will be other disasters elsewhere that need The Rock and co. to save the day. San Andreas was a huge financial winner, though its current Rotten Tomatoes score of 50 isn’t the best. Box office draw and critical reception don’t have to go hand-in-hand, especially when it comes to action movies.
Besides returning for the San Andreas sequel, Alexandra Daddario is also set to star in Baywatch as the appropriately named Summer. Baywatch won’t arrive until 2017, which very well could coincide with the new San Andreas, or whatever the title ends up being.
Next: The first trailer for The Path, starring Michele Monaghan is here.
This could end up being the next huge action franchise if the second one can do anywhere near as well as the first.
