This Week In True Detective: The Dark Tower Moves Edition
This Week in True Detective brings the best of True Detective news from the past week.
Last week didn’t see a lot of news on almost any front, though award season did effectively wrap up. Oh, there was that one thing about a new Stephen King movie starring Matthew McConaughey, but nobody cares about that, right?

First up, Rachel McAdams did not win the Oscar for Spotlight. It was a shame, but the competition was fierce. Spotlight itself, however, did take home the big prize for Best Picture. You can’t win em’ all.
There were two late-night incidents that True Detective fans may find interning: Stephen Colbert brought True Detective and Full House together in Full House Nights, and The Walking Dead’s Ross Marquand brought back his Matthew McConaughey impression on Jimmy Kimmel Live! If you’re wondering what the Full House skit was like, it is almost indescribably; you’d be better off just watching it yourself.
Did you know that Taylor Kitsch starred in an animated movie, called Bling, and you can watch it right now? While the film has just about no promotion whatsoever, it is currently streaming for free over at the Google Play store for a limited time. After that it will head to theaters.
Finally, the big news: It was confirmed by Stephen King that Matthew McConaughey will be starring opposite Idris Elba in The Dark Tower. The film is already in production and will release next year, though it has already been delayed once. At least it is actually, officially, happening.
Next: The Dark Tower has been pushed back.
A short week, all told. If you have any True Detective art or activities to share over the weekend, or you just want to chat, Facebook and Twitter are here for you.
