The Walking Dead’s Ross Marquand Brings Back his Matthew McConaughey Impression
Expert impersonator Ross Marquand brings back his Matthew McConaughey for Jimmy Kimmel Live!
The Matthew McConaughey impression trend unfortunately never took off. We saw a few in the past, but it sizzled out quickly after that. Considering how unique his cadence is, that’s a real shame. Matthew McConaugehy himself, perhaps just discovering that very fact, will star in two animated movies this year — his first.
Fans of McConaughey, awesome impressions, and The Walking Dead got a nice treat last night when Ross Marquand went on Jimmy Kimmel Live! We’ve already seen Marquand’s take on Matthew McConaughey, but he brought it back (and many others) for Kimmel last night.

This particular segment had Marquand impersonating various celebrities giving Oscar acceptance speeches. Considering that Marquand actually spends very little time on McConaughey, it’s amazing how much of the man he is able to capture. That super corny “Interstellar” joke is right up McConaughey’s alley, by the way.
His Kevin Spacey is also crazy on-point.
It would be great if we could one day find out what Matthew McConaughey feels about these impressions. Variety took the time to grill him about True Detective, but it would have arguably been more interesting if he was asked about the impressions instead. Hopefully some brave reporter will be there next time to ask the big questions.

Now that Marquand is getting a bit more attention for his impressions, maybe we’ll see more of them. As long as he keeps breaking out that Matthew McConaughey, we’ll be happy.
