As HBO deals with hackers releasing sensitive information to the internet, a surprising character from Game of Thrones has surfaced. Warning: Spoilers ahoy!

By now, it’s no secret that HBO was hacked. Last week’s episode of Game of Thrones, “The Spoils of War,” was released by the group on Friday before the episode aired. Still, the show set a new ratings record, with10.167 million viewers watching Drogon rain fiery death upon the Lannister loot train.

HBO is still dealing with the information leaked by the hackers, who released emails from HBO and personal information of the cast of Game of Thrones. Well, add another page to the list of things learned from the 1.5 terabytes the hackers claim to have, as the character of Rhaegar Targaryen will seemingly join the show in what will probably be one of Bran Stark’s weirwood visions.

According to NME, a Reddit post from two months ago seems to have cracked the code that actor Wilf Scolding will portray the character of Rhaegar Targaryen on Game of Thrones season 7. Redditor Twerk4Christ did the ground work:

"Last year in late September, Lyanna’s actress Aisling Franciosi started following him on twitter. He followed her back, and he also started following the Game of Thrones twitter account and Liam Cunningham."

Adding fuel to this fire, on the Freefolk subreddit, a broad outline of season 7 was shared months ago where a scene between Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow takes place on a ship. That scene is spliced with a scene of Samwell Tarly and Bran Stark “discussing Jon’s past.”

The last time we saw Bran observe Jon’s past, we learned that Jon was the son of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen, in the season 6 finale. Rhaegar was the son of the Mad King Aerys Targaryen, and the older brother of the Mother of Dragons herself, Daenerys Targaryen. Had he lived, he would be the King of Westeros, and is described in the books as a very good looking man with the purple eyes and silver hair of the Targaryen line.

He died in battle at the hands of Robert Baratheon, which effectively ended the War of the Usurper. Robert became king, and 15-16 years later, the current Game of Thrones timeline begins.

What makes Rhaegar so important to Game of Thrones season 7 is, should Sam uncover the fact that Rhaegar and Lyanna were actually married (and not that he kidnapped and raped her, which is the story spread by the court of Robert Baratheon), that would make Jon the legitimate heir to the Iron Throne with a claim stronger than Daenerys’ own.

Jon is a king now, the King in the North, and he has been spending a lot of time with his Aunt Dany this season. That makes any relationship the two may have, all the more…what’s the word I’m looking for? Icky, let’s go with icky.

Next: Is Jon Snow about to get a dragon on Game of Thrones?

The two are no Jaime and Cersei, but Targaryen’s were infamous for their inbreeding to keep the bloodline pure, so there’s that.
