Preacher season 3 casts Allfather D’Aronique

Preacher season 3 is still casting actors for key roles and has now added Allfather D’Aronique to the list of new characters.
So far, the first two seasons of Preacher has introduced fans to a pair of major villains from the comics — the Saint of Killers (Graham McTavish) and the evil Herr Starr (Pip Torrens). However, Preacher season 3 will present two of the most despicable characters from the comic books.
Last month, news broke that Betty Buckley (Split) will portray Gran’ma Marie L’Angell, the grandmother of Jesse Custer, as well as casting her lackeys with Colin Cunningham (Falling Skies) as T.C., the mentally unstable henchman of Gran’ma, and Jeremy Childs (Nashville) as Jody, the muscle of the two.

These are three characters that make Herr Starr seem almost redeemable. This week, Deadline broke the news that Allfather D’Aronique will also be a recurring character in the cast, the head of the church, Herr Starr’s boss, and possibly the most powerful man in the entire world.
Fans of the comics remember Allfather D’Aronique is a grotesquely obese man who has people carry him everywhere, eats until he pukes and then keeps eating, and has a penchant for young boys. He is horrifically portrayed in the comics and will be played by Jonny Coyne during Preacher season 3.
Fans of NBC’s The Blacklist will recognize Coyne as Ian Garvey, one of the Blacklisters who ended his run on the show this season. He also had roles on the Hulu Stephen King adaptation 11.22.63 as George de Mohrenschildt and on Alcatraz as Warden Edwin James.
For those who thought that Herr Starr was in charge after tossing his superior off a balcony in season 2, the fact is that Allfather D’Aronique is the head of the Grail, calls all the shots, and actually wants Humperdoo to be the Messiah.

Allfather D’Aronique also has a strong connection with Gran’ma Marie L’Angell, so this isn’t just padding the cast. Preacher season 3 will debut sometime in 2018. Season 1 debuted in May 2016 and season 2 in June 2017, so expect an early summer premiere date.
