Doom Patrol has finally found its Elasti-Woman with actress April Bowlby.

According to Deadline, the DC Universe has tapped Bowlby to take on the iconic hero in both Doom Patrol and Titans. It was originally reported the two shows would be using Elasti-Girl, they have decided to go with her alternate alias, Elast-Woman.

Bowlby’s character, Rita Farr, will be one of the leads in the Doom Patrol adaptation. Farr was an actress on the rise before she comes in contact with some toxic gas. Unfortunately, that moment changes her life and grants her a new set of powers. Nonetheless, Farr will find a new home within the team of misfits and become an unlikely hero.

She’s the first actress cast in the highly anticipated Titans spin-off. Part of this may be because Elasti-Woman will have a recurring presence throughout the first season of Titans. The spin-off is still looking to cast Crazy Jane, Robotman, Negative Man, and The Chief. However, the DC Universe and Warner Brothers have been actively searching to round out the ensemble. It was earlier reported they were trying to land Kelsey Grammer for one of the lead roles.

Doom Patrol is expected to debut after the first season of Titans and has already been given a full series order. Their team of disfigured heroes comes together after being approached by Cyborg with an enticing offer. While it gives them a new mission to focus on, he leaves them an ominous warning about the ramifications of undergoing said journey.

The series will be produced by prolific Warner Brothers creator Greg Berlanti and comic book genius Geoff Johns. Like Titans, the show received a thirteen episode order but it’s unclear if they’ll debut all at once. Nevertheless, fans can anticipate an action pack season that might be darker than the other DC Comics television shows.
