AMC has now announced that Yvette Nicole Brown (Community) will take over hosting duties for the AMC talk show Talking Dead.

Talking Dead has been airing on AMC since 2012.  The talk show has served as a weekly recap and discussion of The Walking Dead’s latest episode.  Over the years, it’s become appointment viewing for The Walking Dead superfans almost as much as the show itself.

More from AMC

Of course, the future of Talking Dead has been left somewhat in the air the last few weeks.  Original host Chris Hardwick has come under fire recently after his ex-girlfriend Chloe Dykstra published an article accusing him of sexual abuse.  AMC dropped Hardwick shortly afterward pending a formal investigation.  Hardwick has since strenuously denied Dykstra’s allegations.

Brown is a well-known fan of The Walking Dead and has even appeared as a guest on The Talking Dead ten times over the years.

This news comes a week after it was announced Brown would also fill in for Hardwick as moderator for The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead panels at this week’s Comic-Con.  The panels will be taking place in Hall H on Friday.

Since the investigation on Hardwick is ongoing, it’s currently unknown if Brown will serve as the show’s permanent host.  Brown is currently working with AMC on an interim basis. There has been no word how far along the investigation into the Chris Hardwick allegations are.

Do you think Brown will serve as a good replacement for Talking Dead?  Will Hardwick make his way back to the show?  Give us your thoughts in the comment section.
