The latest trailer for Amazon’s The Boys promises a different kind of superhero show.

For anyone familiar with the Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson comic book, this uncensored trailer definitely has the same tone as the original source material. However, for those just getting introduced to The Boys, this latest footage may have come as a bit of shock.

The series centers around a team of superheroes who love the power and fame which come with saving the day. In fact, they think they have the ability to do whatever whenever they want. Luckily, there’s a newly formed group called “The Boys” who step in to remind the heroes that they’re not above the law.

Viewer Advisory: The trailer below contains mature content including uncensored language and violence.

Viewers get a glimpse of all the major heroes in the trailer but not all of The Boys. Antony Starr (Banshee) takes up a good amount of screentime as the most infamous hero, The Homelander, who appears to be the most self-serving of the bunch. It’s unclear if The Boys will follow all of his actions in the comics but either way it looks like he will be a disturbing “hero”.

Dominique McElligot (The Last Tycoon) is Queen Maeve, who looks a lot like Wonder Woman throughout the trailer. However, she does seem to do some good by saving a couple of children, she can also be seen murdering a guy as well. The other female member of the group, Starlight (played by Jessica Jones‘ Erin Moriarty) is only briefly seen.

The other three members of the team, are Chace Crawford (Gossip Girl) as The Deep, Nathan Mitchell (iZombie) as Black Noir, and Jessie Usher (Survivor’s Remorse) as A-Train. They can all be seen engaging of fights of their own and seem to be just as committed to the celebrity lifestyle being a hero allows.

Meanwhile, Karl Urban (Star Trek franchise) and Jack Quaid (The Hunger Games) are the only two members of The Boys who make an appearance. Urban is Billy Butcher and is more than happy to resort to violence in order to teach the heroes a lesson. Quaid plays Hughie Campbell or “Wee Hughie” who doesn’t look nearly as comfortable getting his hands dirty but remains committed to the cause.

The other Boys don’t seem to be in the trailer but will play an integral part in the series. Laz Alonso (Fast & Furious) plays Mother’s Milk, Tomer Kapon (When Heroes Fly) is The Frenchman, and Karen Fukuhara (Suicide Squad) is Female.
