The Society: Who’s the father of Becca’s baby and does it matter?
Will The Society ever reveal who Becca’s baby daddy is?
On a show like The Society, it’s hard to take anything at face value. While Becca claims the baby’s father isn’t someone we know, fans are naturally skeptical. There are so many mysteries, and it would feel like a wasted opportunity for the series not to explore a potential paternity plotline in season 2. While we are interested to learn who the dad is, there’s also something to be said about how the series is handling co-parenting in New Ham.

So what do we know about the father? When Sam asked Becca at the prom, she got very defensive. In fact, she demanded he never asks her that question again. Her reaction immediately seems off, and it hints that maybe things did not end or go well between them.

She later reveals to Sam that the father is from someone outside of West Ham and that no one knows him. This seems a little convenient, and a way to keep him from asking any more questions. Why would he need to know about someone he may never actually get a chance to meet?
A lot of fan theories have predicted that Harry would wind up being the biological father, however, we don’t see this happening. In the finale, he’s seen enthusiastically asking Kelly how Becca and the baby are doing, which some viewers took as a sign that he’s the dad. Yet, at this point, it doesn’t seem like Kelly is taking Harry back and he’s not exactly on good terms with Allie right now either. What does he have to gain from hiding the parentage?
While Harry has done or said some terrible things this season, for some reason he doesn’t actually seem like a bad guy. He’s easily manipulated and selfish, but he’s terrified of being alone and suffers from no longer having a purpose. If he had a kid, it would give him back some sort of a family, which makes us hesitant to say it would be him.
Whenever we try to get to the bottom of a mystery on The Society, one name always comes up: Campbell. Yes, if the baby is the result of something sinister like rape, he seems like the most likely suspect. In the pilot, Sam asks Becca why she never joins in on any of the parties. We know Campbell is the town’s source of drugs and he doesn’t take rejection well. Could he have slipped something to her at a party, leading Becca to stay away from drugs and alcohol?
The biological father seems like an inevitable story arc in season 2, Becca has decided that Sam would be the dad. Sam is gay and has never slept with his best friend, however, he’s more than willing to step up to help raise the baby. Some people in New Ham find the dynamic a little weird, but it says a lot about families who adopt. Yes, that kid isn’t biologically Sam’s but he’s going to love that baby like it is.

But what would be more tragic for Sam than discovering the kid is actually his nephew? The Society has had some teen drama cliches before, such as Harry’s and Kelly’s parents having an affair, and this does sound like a plot twist straight out of Riverdale. For now, our final guess is Campbell.
