This is Us casting news: Jennifer Morrison to appear in season 4

This is Us will return this fall with a brand new, major recurring character.

A new face will be seen next season on This is Us.

Jennifer Morrison, who you may know from Once Upon a Time and How I Met Your Mother, has been cast in a recurring role in season 4. Though it isn’t known exactly what her role on the show may be, TV Line reports that her part will be “substantial.”

I guess it’s good that CBS didn’t renew her series Under the Bridge.

I do have a guess as to who Morrison may be playing.

On the season 3 finale, we saw that Kevin and Zoe break up because Kevin wants kids and Zoe doesn’t. But at the end of the episode during a flash-forward, we see many of the cast members gathered in Kevin’s house, and even see his son.

Maybe, Morrison will play Kevin’s love interest and future wife. At the very least, she may be the mother of his son.

Of course, no one from the show has divulged any information about plot lines. The only clue given was from Chrissy Metz (Kate), who said that the season 4 premiere would pick up about five months after the events from the season 3 finale.

Someone besides the show’s creator, Dan Fogelman, who may know a little something about This Is Us next season is Mandy Moore (Rebecca).

“It’s fun to go out to dinner with Dan and let him get a tiny bit tipsy,” Moore said to TV Line, “and then he wants to tell you everything. And I let him! I tell him, ‘Here, have another glass of wine.’”

This Is Us was recently renewed for three more seasons, taking the popular drama through season 6.
