SDCC 2019: Amazon releases two trailers for upcoming Carnival Row
Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevingne led the San Diego Comic-Con panel for the upcoming Prime series Carnival Row on Friday and gave us a magical first look at the series.
Amazon brought the newest addition to its high caliber programming, Carnival Row for a panel at San Diego Comic-Con yesterday. The panel, highlighted by Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevingne, also included Travis Beacham, Tamzin Merchant, David Gyasi and Marc Guggenheim.
The first look was released not in the form of one but two featurettes. Both of them were shown from a different perspective. The first one (below) was from Cara Delevingne’s refugee fairy Vignette Stonemoss’ point of view, while the other one showed us how Orlando Bloom’s character, Rycroft Philostrate, an orphan human detective sees the world. Both the trailers seem to have a mystic nature to it with a feel of both romance and tragedy.
The series’ premise says that it is set in a vague “Victorian” era, in a world full of fantastical mythical creatures who also happen to be immigrants, attempting to live side-by-side with humans, who previously invaded their homelands and co-exist alongside them. They are forced to live in the grimiest sections of the city and are forbidden to live, love or fly with freedom. The show focuses on Rycroft and Vignette, who even after these horrors have rekindled a dangerous affair.

Cara also talked about her character during the panel and defined her as someone who is amazing and keeps on moving forward even after the loss she has suffered. She is a warrior who is fighting for her love.
The show’s creator, Travis Beacham, revealed that he came up with the idea for the show during his time in writing school. He revealed that this was the script that started his career in Hollywood and was under development for about five years till Legendary picked it up as a tv series.
