Fear The Walking Dead is struggling a bit in the back half of season 5 folks, and this week’s episode continues that sentiment.

Fear The Walking Dead feels like it’s hit a lull in its plot and story for this season. Like I’m talking major roadblock. This week’s episode, for example, made little to no sense to me. It feels like ever since the mid-season premiere, the only story we’ve been witnessing is the hunt to find the oil fields.

Also, does anyone care to explain why everyone has the ability to watch Al’s tapes, have cameras with limitless battery supply, and VCRs?! Like, seriously, where are the VCRs coming from?! Are you starting to see why this season makes no sense?

This week’s episode, “Ner Tamid”, kicks off with Charlie and a rabbi coming together unexpectedly. Charlie soon learned that the rabbi was living inside the temple, which meant she could secure this as a new home for her people. Too bad there are a lot of walkers in the surrounding area, who ironically used to be the rabbi’s congregation.

June and Dorie come to check out the temple, but it’s looking more and more like they’re not going to go with the whole “let’s take over someone else’s safe place for ourselves” scenario.

That decision is more or less solidified when Dwight and Sarah call in asking for help.

But before June and Dorie can go anywhere, they’re surrounded by all sides of the rabbi’s walker congregation. At that very moment, Charlie comes in clutch by having the rabbi blow into the shofar to attract the walkers inside the building.

And as expected, all is well in the land of Fear The Walking Dead, or sorry, I mean the land of limitless camera tapes, battery life, and cameras.

As the episode came to a close, we learn that Logan has finally figured out where these darn oil fields are, courtesy of Al’s bajillion tapes. As a result of that, it looks like next week things are about to get super complicated on Fear The Walking Dead.

Let’s just hope that before the end of the season something, anything epic happens that will blow our minds away. We really need some excitement on this show.
