The time where a picnic on Chilling Adventures of Sabrina went really, really wrong.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina fans, did you know there are picnics on this show? Who would have thought?! Of course, this particular episode’s picnic is for a very specific reason. But before I get into all of that, let’s break down some other moments in the episode.

Harvey and Roz’ relationship is definitely attempting to take things to the next level, but it hasn’t quite happened yet. And then there’s Nick who is on the brink of a nervous, alcoholic breakdown. I think we’re a hop, skip, and a jump away from the end of his relationship with Sabrina. It’s just a matter of time.

And then there’s the Coven, who no longer has any powers, courtesy of the Dark Lord. And it’s this loss of power that ultimately leads to Sabrina’s aunts finding out that she’s the Queen of Hell. Surprise!

However, will the dear folks of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina get their powers back? According to Lilith, they will need an angel. Lucifer is unlikely to help but there’s one person who seems to always have the solution–Dorian. He’s got an angel in one of his infamous paintings.

Sabrina extracts the blood from the painting but Dorian ends up drinking most of it. And oh, Nick is cheating on Sabrina. What a hot mess, folks!

The vial left behind wasn’t going to be enough which leads us to Hare Moon festivity where the coven will have to take a moon bath. They will be able to yield power from the moon but not if those creepy carnival folks have anything to do with it.

They’re asked to join the picnic and it’s revealed that we have a Pagan versus Satanic witches situation here. And from here on out, the picnic gets weird and turns into a frenzy of sorts. There are snakes, a Sabrina and Nick showdown, and of course, the fact that the Coven doesn’t succeed in their mission.

I do want to point out that Chilling Adventures of Sabrina gave us a pretty epic moment between Sabrina and Nick. Their issues have come to a head and some horrible, horrible things are said. The most devastating of which is when Nick confesses that every time he looks at Sabrina, he sees her father and everything he went through because of him.

Going back to Harvey and Roz–things aren’t going so hot over here. And it’s not the relationship, it’s the fact that Roz comes down with the flu and is unable to move. Harvey goes to the carnival to see what he can find out, and when he comes back, Roz has turned into stone.

Not to mention, after a failed Hare Moon ceremony, Sabrina and the Coven go back to the Academy to find that there are snakes everywhere. And the Pagans are standing outside, alerting the Satanic witches that they have three days to bow down to the Old Gods that are returning. And if they don’t…well it’s game over then.

There may be no other option than to free the Dark Lord at this point, but when Sabrina goes down to talk to him, she finds Nick basically having a seizure on the floor. He’s overdosed thanks to Lucifer, and I’m not sure he’s going to be okay.

What an episode, right?! I think this is really the turning point for Chilling Adventures of Sabrina in this season, and it basically kickstarts what’s to come. It’s thrilling, engaging, and riveting–and I can’t wait for what comes next.
