What the story is about has been the million dollar question all summer long. But the major topic of discussion — mainly involving trolls — is that the series will take a comedic turn thanks to the lead actors who have been assembled. This is simply unfair, even if some of those suggesting it are halfway kidding.
It’s an unconventional cast, that’s for sure, but the series doesn’t have to move into a comedic direction just because three of its main leads are known for comedic films. Colin Farrell is probably the most serious of the three but he’s being lumped in with Rachel McAdams and Vince Vaughn as being a goofball in a romantic comedy.
Hopefully there’s a lot of comedic moments in the new season, just like there were in the first season. But the presence of Vaughn and McAdams isn’t the end of the world and while the trolling is hilarious, it’s only funny up to the point where people start to believe it and get mad about it.
