SAG-AFTRA have announced the first wave of presenters for the upcoming SAG awards. Matthew McConaughey will join other A-list presenters such as Edward Norton, Ethan Hawke, and Michael Keaton. As well as presenting, McConaughey is also nominated for a SAG himself for his work in True Detective.

McConaughey will attend the SAG awards based on his True Detective work, as Interstellar did not receive any nominations. The SAG awards are True Detective’s last shot an award after being shut out at Golden Globes, but the PGA awards will be handed out just a day before on January 24th.

No doubt it will be a very stressful time for True Detective. Even though we haven’t heard much about season two in some time, there was a get-together of sorts at the Golden Globes after party. Even though we don’t know what was discussed, it’s still nice to see the True Detective cast out in public together.

Even though True Detective hasn’t taken home a win yet this award season, McConaughey is pulling a lot of the spotlight. Not much has been heard of Woody Harrelson, and he was nowhere to be seen at the Golden Globes. It does credence to the general feeling that McConaughey is the favorite right now, which is certainly no surprise.

You can tune into to SAG awards on January 25th at 8 p.m. EST, but before that make sure to check out our analysis of True Detective’s chances. But we’ve been wrong before.
