This Week in True Detective: Week of 2/02/2015
This Week in True Detective is a new feature that aims to bring you the best True Detective happenings of the week. This could include breaking news, popular articles, or anything else that people found interesting or may have missed.
It’s Friday and that means it’s time for another edition of This Week in True Detective. We didn’t have much in the way of strict news this week, but True Detective did manage a slight comeback from its awards thumping.
Let’s begin.
- True Detective managed to pull in awards for editing and art direction, leaving us to wonder why it’s easier for True Detective to pull in smaller guild awards over the heavy hitters.
- This week also saw another cult show, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, pay tribute to both True Detective and the film Birdman at the same time. It was no small feat, that’s for sure. Make sure to check it out if you’re a fan.
- We also sat down and tried to figure out why we have yet to see leaked photos of Rachel McAdams on the set of True Detective’s second season. There’s also the small matter of True Detective’s first season soundtrack which is still MIA.
- Finally, Slate magazine sat down with True Detective director Cary Fukunaga. He didn’t have that much to say about True Detective, but fans on Stephen King’s IT should be pleased.
And that’s it for This Week in True Detective. As a formal reminds, the DGA awards will take place this weekend and True Detective is nominated for direction. We’ll be here to let you know how it goes. If you have any True Detective-flavored activities going on this weekend, don’t hesitate to let us know.
Let’s kick the weekend off this making of True Detective feature which HBO posted a year ago. You know, just to give you some context for how long it’s been between season.
