True Detective Season Two: Are We Close to a Big Reveal?

It’s not easy to tell just what’s going on with True Detective’s production. For the most part, HBO and the True Detective team has done a great job at keeping their lips shut when it comes to the goings-on of production and a possible premiere date. However, that tight lock is slowly — and gently — being opened, which is leading us to believe that we’re not far from a big reveal.

This can be traced back to the mysterious promo package that a comic artist was sent a few months back. That odd event has all but been forgotten; with nothing obvious coming from it, why should we continue to care?

As far as we are aware, cult comic artists have not been flooded with True Detective-esque packages. But it’s an important point in the unveiling of True Detective’s second season.

Next we have Vince Vaughn’s big playboy interview. In-between we’ve had several photo leaks from the set of True Detective but since those were not official they don’t exactly count. Vince Vaughn’s interview was the first time that veil was pulled even slightly back on True Detective season two, even if not much of the information was new.

With a supposed premiere date in the summer, True Detective technically has a healthy cushion to bring out the big guns. There is no immediate rush. But it’s quite possible that something is building, something which can be traced back to a single lucky comic artist.

February is almost over and True Detective continues production on season two. But there is a definite sense that the floodgates are being opened. Slowly at first, but that’s how it is; one day there’s nothing, and the next there’s a giant billboard in NYC.
