True Detective is Slowly Returning to Twitter
True Detective isn’t exactly a show known for its social presence. Compared to Game of Thrones, HBO’s current juggernaut, True Detective’s social activity and fan interaction are abysmal. It’s not exactly a fair comparison, however, since the two fanbases are very different and reality based drama is very different from fantasy.

One lends itself well to passionate fan interaction, and the other does not.
But there seems to be some sort of change coming. The official True Detective Twitter, which is normally kept silent, has been picking up speed lately. Over the course of two days, the official True Detective twitter sent out two messages.
That may not seem like a lot, but considering that their last public tweet was over 65 days ago, it’s an amazing turn of events.
And it lends credence to our assertion that there is something big on the horizon for True Detective, whose second season has been in production for several months. The first tweet was to showcase some photos from the set:
In fact, these are some of the same photos of Colin Farrell and Taylor Kitsch that were previously leaked. Since these are the same leaked photos that we’ve seen, it would appear HBO is still not ready to release official images. But something is always better than nothing.
The second tweet is a recommendation for I Am, which can be watched on Netflix. And that’s all there is. It may not be much, but it’s the first time True Detective has communicated with fans consistently in months. It all may lead to nothing, but it also may eventually lead to our first teaser. Our bets are on the latter.
