Rumor: More True Detective Plot Details Leak

This post may contain spoilers for True Detective season two.

True Detective has become infamous for being so locked down. Every bit of information is carefully, slowly, released to the general public. But sometimes something happens to shake things a bit. Perhaps for the second time, there has been a leak of True Detective plot details.

More from HBO

We use the word “perhaps,” because there is no confirmation for a leak like this. We won’t know whether it’s true or not until the first episode of True Detective season to airs. Movie Pilot is reporting that certain True Detective plot details have leaked.

They are also the ones that reported the leak the first time around.

Consider this your official Spoiler Warning.

According to this leak, Colin Farrell and Rachel McAdams (Ray Velcoro and Ani Bezzerides) will be teaming up to tackle the mystery of a murder victim. Some of this we knew already; it’s the most detailed information that’s new.

And of course since this is True Detective, the two will have their fair share of issues. Velcoro apparently has a cocaine addiction and is a “disgraced cop.” Bezzerides is a determined idealist with a chip on her shoulder. This fits with what we’ve seen of her character in the two trailers that have been released so far.

The most interesting part of this leak is the presence of “occult markings” on the murder victim. Nic Pizzolatto explicitly stated that there would be no supernatural elements in this season of True Detective, so take that for what it’s worth.

It’s possible that he was trying to throw us off the scent, so to speak, by saying that. But just like most other things True Detective related we’ll have to wait and see. There might be a supernatural undertone that is greatly reduced from that of the first season.

Sound exciting, no? We’ll see whether any of this pans out when True Detective season two premiers later this month.

Next: True Detective creator Nic Pizzolatto has changed talent agencies.
