HBO Posted Lera Lynn’s True Detective Cameo Song (Video)
The Lera Lynn song written for True Detective, “The Only Thing Worth Fighting For,” hasn’t made an appearance in True Detective season two. Another song of Lynn’s, however, got quite a showcase during Sunday’s premiere episode.

Lera Lynn herself made a cameo to perform “This is My Least Favorite Life” while Ray Velcoro (Colin Farrell) and Frank Semyon (Vince Vaughn) had a little talk at a bar. The official True Detective account has now posted the song to YouTube for your listening pleasure.
The song fits in very well with True Detective, and creates a serious Twin Peaks vibe when it’s played in the show. It may also be of interest to know that HBO has updated the True Detective soundtrack pre-order on iTunes, revealing “This is My Least Favorite Life” as one of the included songs.
That makes two Lera Lynn songs that will be on the True Detective soundtrack. It’s looking unlikely then that Leonard Cohen’s “Nevermind” will feature the soundtrack, as HBO would have likely reveled that song as well. Perhaps the soundtrack will only include song that were specifically written for True Detective season two.
You can check out the full song below, which is just as grim as you remember it being.
