True Detective Producer Steve Golin’s Star is Rising
Anonymous Content’s Steve Golin, producer of True Detective, is the talk of the town.
It’s not usual for a producer to become and talked about as Steve Golin has. Directors, writers, they’re normally the ones that get the brunt of attention. Steven Golin, however, has been slowly building a production company worth talking about. Outside of that, he has been building his production cred on his own, taking on films like Spotlight.
The Wall Street Journal has a new piece on Golin, though it is behind an aggressive paywall. Although we can’t share the piece, the feelings expressed in it are indicative of the industry’s; Steven Golin is someone to watch. Golin and Anonymous Content is involved with, or at least adjacent to, True Detective, Mr. Robot, and The Knick. Just to name a few.

Golin is involved with two films nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards this year: Spotlight and The Revenant. Anonymous Content’s website states that they make sure “talent comes first,” and that seems to be the case so far.
For those keeping track, Steve Golin is also the producer that let it slip that True Detective season three was moving forward. He may have done so while speaking ill of season two, but it happened. Anonymous Content and Golin both have a fantastic track record so far of putting their weight behind artistic films and television series that turn heads. That’s not all that common.

Anonymous Content is also involved with Cary Fukunaga’s upcoming TV adaptation of The Alienist. Steve Golin is deeply imbedded within the True Detective machine, and that includes involvement with Fukunaga. This is a man to watch, and it would many are starting to agree.
