If you remember right, Negan armed his people with weapons covered in Walkers’ guts, knowing that just cutting someone will kill them via infection. With the Saviors thinking that Negan is dead, Simon leads them to The Hilltop with the entire plan to eradicate the whole community and kill everyone there.
Of course, anyone who has followed The Walking Dead at all knows that as long as Maggie is at The Hilltop and in charge — with Jesus by her side — there are no worries. There are casualties in this episode, but The Hilltop as a whole survives.
So, who dies on The Walking Dead this week? Tobin (Jason Douglas) dies when a Savior stabs him with a tainted knife. He reanimates and kills the doctor from the Kingdom (making Siddiq (Avi Nash) even more critical than ever now). However, there are more deaths.
There are Saviors deaths, and they end up running away in fear when The Hilltop starts to win the fight. However, at the end of the episode, Maggie looks out over about 20 graves. See, the people of The Hilltop thought they won but the ones stabbed went to bed that night and died because of the Walker guts infecting them. The people of The Hilltop had to put down their friends and family when they rose that night.

What happens between Dwight and Tara?
The battle lines have been drawn among The Walking Dead fan base. Some are on Team Tara because Dwight (Austin Amello) killed the woman she loved. Others are Team Dwight because Tara (Alanna Masterson) said that people couldn’t change sides — even though she did after following The Governor.
After helping the people of Alexandria escape, Tara turned on Dwight and tried to murder him in cold blood. Dwight was able to escape and get back to Simon and the Saviors, where he just played off being on the run. In this episode, Dwight has a chance for revenge, but there is something more to it than that.
Simon is about to kill Tara by gunshot when Dwight shows up and shoots her with an arrow. As Tara lies there wondering if she is going to die, Dwight and Simon leave. The show does not reveal her fate, but if The Walking Dead comics shows anything, it is that Dwight uses his arrow to fake out the Saviors by shooting non-tainted arrows into the good guys so they can live to fight on.

What else happened this week on The Walking Dead?
Carol is in the infirmary with Tobin after he is stabbed. Once again, Carol admits that she wants to leave when the battle with the Saviors ends. She feels that, even if they beat the Saviors, there will be more fighting and it will never stop. This is the same Carol that Ezekiel had to coax out to keep fighting after she left Alexandria.
While it is stip up in the air, fans of The Walking Dead comics might wonder if Carol follows Michonne’s comic book story and leaves after the battle to set out to sea. Of course, there are also people who think she will take Maggie’s place if Lauren Cohan does not re-sign to come back next season.
Next: Walking Dead rumors: Who is Georgie?
There is no Negan or Jadis in this episode, so expect them to possibly be waiting for Simon when he runs back to their base with his tail between his legs. That should be an awesome meeting. Rick is in the episode though, and he is stabbed with a knife, so there is a chance he is infected with Walkers’ guts as a cliffhanger.
The Walking Dead airs on Sunday night at 9 p.m. EST on AMC.
