Preacher Season 2 promo reveals the cast of characters

Anyone who has never read Garth Ennis’ brilliant comic series Preacher will have a huge spoiler when they watch the first promo for Preacher season 3.

The first promo is simply a look at the major Preacher season 3 characters in a shot with fires burning in Angelville behind them.

When we say “major characters,” we mean everyone including at least one person that fans of the TV show thought was dead and another evil dictator who ran away at the end of season 2.

Before we get into this, check out the first Preacher season 3 promo below.

Just so you don’t have to look all over the internet to find the answer — the song is “Wooby Woo” by OHNO.

Now — what the hell (literally?) are we seeing in this first look at Preacher season 3?

The three main cast members — Jesse Custer, Cassidy the vampire and Tulip are still front and center. This may come as a shock since Tulip died last season. However, the last thing that fans saw was Jesse heading back home to his Gran’ma — an evil and vindictive woman who has brought things back from the dead before.

The woman in the wheelchair on the right side of the video in front of Cassidy is Gran’ma (Betty Buckley — horror fans might remember her from the M. Night Shyamalan movie Split as the psychiatrist). On the left side, next to Tulip are Jody (Jeremy Childs, holding the knife) and T.C. (Colin Cunningham, in the overalls) — Gran’ma’s right-hand men.

Back to the right side is The Saint of Killers (Gavin McTavish) — who was condemned to Hell in season 2 but is back for more this season — and Hitler (Noah Taylor), who looks like he might be working at some kind of store now. Also on that side is Allfather D’aronique (Jonny Coyne), holding a photo of the Messiah, Humperdido. Interestingly, Featherstone (Julie Ann Emery) is on the Allfather’s side of the video instead of that of Herr Starr.

As for Herr Starr (Pip Torrens), he is over on the left with Hoover (Malcolm Barrett) behind him (possibly not the best place for Hoover to be). Also on that side of the screen is a returning Arseface (Ian Colletti) as well as the dog suit man that might be God and a brand-new character — the vampire Eccarius (Adam Croasdell).

Preacher season 3 returns to AMC on June 24 at 10 p.m. EST.
