Frances McDormand is joining David Tennant, Jon Hamm, and Michael Sheen in Amazon’s Good Omens!

Did Good Omens just make Frances McDormand God? Based on the Amazon Prime panel at San Diego Comic-Con, yes, sort of. Neil Gaiman is a literary masterpiece and as of late, many of his written works are making their way to the small screen, first with Starz American Gods and now with Amazon’s Good Omens.

At the panel earlier today, Gaiman announced that Frances McDormand will be joining the cast for the six-part series as the “voice of God”. Her reveal proved to be pretty epic as her voice bellowed into the Ballroom 20 speakers saying that Gaiman should not reveal any footage and that he can’t “argue with God”.

McDormand has a funny story of how she joined the Good Omens cast which started with her reaching out to Gaiman about staying in his house in Scotland. Along with McDormand’s cast addition, Gaiman also revealed “The End is Nigh” art and a behind-the-scenes look at BBC Studios of production.

We always love us some Jon Hamm, don’t we? Hamm will be playing the character of Archangel Gabriel, alongside Tennant’s demon character Crawley and Sheen’s angel character Aziriphale. They are all coming together to stop the apocalypse from taking place.

The series will also star Nick Offerman, Jack Whitehall, Miranda Richardson, and Michael McKean and is set to premiere on Amazon in 2019. Along with Good Omens, Gaiman is taking over as showrunner for season two of American Gods so 2019 is shaping up to be an amazing year for this author.
