Daredevil season 3 gets a premiere date and teaser
Daredevil season 3 will be available on Netflix much sooner than expected.
The streaming service confirmed during the summer that Marvel’s Daredevil would be premiering season 3 sometime in 2018. However, with Iron Fist airing in early September, many expected Matt Murdock to return sometime this winter. Luckily, fans won’t have to wait that long with a new teaser revealing the series will be back October 19.
It’s been over two years since Daredevil season 2 aired on Netflix, and these upcoming episodes are some of the most anticipated of the year. For a while, it’s been teased that this new season will be following the infamous Born Again arc from the comics. With the earlier confirmation that Wilson Bethel’s new character will be the Bullseye, fans can expect a violent season 3.
The date announcement teaser also promises an even darker version of Matt Murdock. While it’s less than a minute long, viewers can hear Murdock narration as glimpses of a bloodied and beaten version of himself show up on screen.

"You can suffocate evil. Starve it. Lock it behind bars. But it will find a way to come back even stronger. There’s only one true way to end evil. To finish it for good. Let the devil out."
Well, this certainly doesn’t sound like the Matt we’ve grown accustomed to throughout the series. Yes, he’s been battling with a darkness inside of him, but it looks like something will finally push him over the edge in this season. With Kingpin and Bullseye slated to have major roles in season 3, fans can expect some sort of tragedy to strike the people of Hell’s Kitchen.
Daredevil‘s cast will also be attending NYCC this year on October 6th. Charlie Cox, Eldon Hensen, Deborah Ann Woll, Vincent D’Onofrio, Joanne Whalley, Wilson Bethel, Jay Ali, Erik Oleson, and Jeph Loeb. Fans who go to the panel will probably get a glimpse of the upcoming season and a bit more information about what brings Matt back to the vigilante life.
There’s no word yet if Netflix is planning a fourth season of the critically acclaimed series. Daredevil is the Marvel show which started the universe on the streaming service and is arguably the most popular among fans. It’s also unclear if there are any characters from the other Defenders’ series popping in during this season. While many fans loved the dynamic between Jessica Jones and Matt Murdock, it’s unlikely she shows up for any other reason but to marvel at the fact he’s alive.
All of the Defenders have struggled with the guilt of Matt’s death at the end of The Defenders. His return will probably have a profound impact on their lives. Be sure to check back here on October 19 for our recap of season 3. In the meantime, tell us in the comments below what you’re most excited to see!
