Orange Is The New Black releases emotional final season promo

But we’re not ready to say goodbye to Orange Is The New Black yet!
Orange Is The New Black will premiere its seventh and final season on July 26, according to a report released by Deadline on Wednesday. Suffice to say, I (along with many fans) am not ready to say farewell just yet. But, it appears to be the year of saying goodbye to all our favorite shows, so what’s another one, right?
Netflix released a video announcing the final season premiere date with cast members singing the iconic theme song by Regina Spektor as they walk around the set. It really hits you in the feels, I promise you, so you might want to keep a tissue box by your side—just in case.
For those of you who may have forgotten how season six ended (spoilers ahead), let us give you a quick recap!
Piper and Alex get married right before Piper gets an early release, Taystee is sentenced for life after the prison riot fiasco, and Blanca is taken away by ICE. There’s much more that went down but that’s the gist of it, and thinking about it reminds me of how heavy it all was when season six ended.

- Lawmen: Bass Reeves season 1, episode 7 preview: Non-spoiler thoughts for Part VII
- Goosebumps season 1, episode 6 recap: “Night of the Living Dummy”
- Beacon 23 season 1, episode 3 recap: “Why Can’t We Go on as Three?”
- Upload season 3, episode 2 recap: “Strawberry”
Going into season seven, things are likely to never be the same, especially for Piper who has to adjust to life outside of prison. We’ve seen how it’s a struggle to acclimate to the outside world, so season seven of Orange Is The New Black will highlight Piper’s troubles with this new life, away from the four walls of Litchfield Prison and her wife.
The seventh and final season will also shed light on the troubles between Taystee and Cindy’s friendship, which was obliterated after Cindy essentially pointed Taystee out as the culprit of the riot. Speaking of which, the end of season six showed Taystee being shipped off to an unknown location where it was snowing like crazy. Looks like we’ll learn more about that and her impending life sentence.
Of course, at the center of it all will be Litchfield’s new incentive to make money—a for-profit detention center. Seriously, the villains in this show are the WORST, and I can’t imagine what they have in store for our favorite characters as the series comes to an end.
There is plenty to be afraid of and look forward to as Orange Is The New Black says goodbye to its fans. So be sure to mark your calendars for Friday, July 26 to catch the farewell season!
