Glow, the show about a show based on a true story of an old show is back on Netflix with ten new episodes.

Here’s something I’ve observed about Glow this season.

There’s not a ton of wrestling going on.

I’m only slightly disappointed because I’m still entertained by everything. And, I think the lack of action points to the fact that the live production is on autopilot and the real action is happening off stage. I’ll allow it.

Backed by the vocal stylings of Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood mac’s “Gypsy,” the ladies pile in their cars and head out to Red Rock Canyon for a camping trip. Some are more enthused than others (Ruth). But if this trip accomplishes anything, it helps solidify the women’s bond, so that they can get through this run together.

More from Show Snob

Quick recap: The ladies go on an overnight camping trip and do a lot of soul-searching.

It’s cringeworthy: During Freaky Tuesday, while Jenny filled in as Britannica, Melrose performed as Fortune Cookie. Jenny was extremely hurt by Melrose’s performance, which she shrugs off at first. She is, after all, Jenny’s bestie so it shouldn’t upset her. After Melrose tells the ladies the story of Passover around the fire, but Jenny doesn’t think she’s taking the story as seriously as she should. Jenny then shares her own story about how she and her family escaped genocide in Cambodia. “I get to be one of the lucky ones…and now I’m jumping out of a fortune cookie every night pretending that everything is fine.” It’s heart-wrenching, but all the girls get up immediately to comfort her, especially Melrose, who now understands what she did wrong.

Biggest surprise: Sheila takes off the wolf wig…for good. It seems as though after hallucinating meeting a real wolf, she now has clarity.

Not surprising: Ruth is in love with Sam. Duh, we know this already. But she admits this out loud to Debbie, and she encourages Ruth to go after what she wants. In turn, Ruth encourages her to bring Randy to Vegas.

Oh crap: So, when Ruth gets back to the Fan-Tan to presumably tell Sam how she feels, he’s gone. She looks shocked and devastated. Just bury those feelings back down, Ruth.

Funniest moment: Debbie and Ruth writing their obituaries as they sit on a rock, in the dark, completely lost. Debbie calls herself a soap actress who’s done nothing of importance. Ruth adds, “unidentified woman found with soap star.”

Feeling nostalgic: Seeing all the snacks in all of their 1980s glory, especially the Doritos bag!
