Perry Mason: Justin Kirk set to recur in upcoming HBO series
HBO’s Perry Mason has added Justin Kirk to the cast!
The upcoming limited series has found another star to join its already impressive ensemble. Justin Kirk, well-known for his work on Showtime’s Weeds, is set to have a recurring role on Perry Mason. He joins the already cast Matthew Rhys, Tatiana Maslany, Juliet Rylance, Shea Whigham, Chris Chalk, and John Lithgow.
There is no word yet who Justin Kirk will be playing. However, Deadline reports his role will is considered major despite the recurring status.
Perry Mason will revolve around the titular character, played by Matthew Rhys, during 1932. It’s set in Los Angeles where Mason’s origin as an iconic defense attorney will be explored. According to Deadline, his case will involve a missing child and will rock the city just as it’s at its height. However, this mystery will be personal and it will allow Mason to find a little “redemption” as he tries to solve it.

The series is co-written and executive produced by Rolin Jones and Ron Fitzgerald. The latter is expected to act as a showrunner on the upcoming show. Robert Downey Jr., Susan Downey, Amanda Burrell, and Joe Horacek executive produce from Team Downey. Robert and Susan Downey actually developed the project originally. Meanwhile, Matthew Rhys and Tim Van Patten also serve as executive producers and the latter is also on board as a director.
On top of his work on Weeds, Justin Kirk is known for Angels in America and Kidding as well as his movies Vice and Molly’s Game. He was also in FOX’s Wayward Pines and has had a recurring role on ABC’s Modern Family.
