True Detective Makes Wall Street Journal List

Even though the second season of True Detective isn’t too far away (maybe,) the first season of True Detective continues to round up accolades. This is due to a  renewed interest caused by many publications putting out their best-of 2014 lists.

True Detective has been both honored and snubbed on these lists, but it just got another win from The Wall Street Journal. True Detective has made The Wall Street Journals “The Best Television of 2014 List,” amongst some familiar and unfamiliar faces.

In this unranked list, True Detective is joined by other drama peers such as The Americans and Homeland. Missing form the admittedly short list is most of the competition: Game of Thrones, House of Cards, Mad Men, and Fargo all didn’t make the cut.

Instead, True Detective is joined by PBS’ Roosevelts documentary, The Roosevelts: An Intimate History, Sundance’s Maggie Gyllenhaal starring The Honorable Woman,  and HBO’s own Olive Kitteridge.

Out of all the other great drama out there, it’s nice to see True Detective singled out.

The end of 2014 is almost upon us, but don’t expect the year-end lists to slow down. These lists will likely take us into the SAG’s and Golden Globes, in which True Detective is up for both awards, as well as a PGA.
