Report: Colin Farrell Interviewed in LA Times

Not too long ago we got our first taste of the True Detective hype machine when Vince Vaughn gave an interview to Playboy. Granted, the entire piece was not True Detective related and we didn’t end up learning that much, but it was our first step towards something bigger.

Perhaps you can consider this new interview with Colin Farrell in the LA Times a smaller, baby step. In the interview it is made clear that Farrell is not there to dish on True Detective, but is instead participating to promote a new fragrance. Still, some True Detective does slither in.

Right off the bat, however, Colin Farrell makes sure to set the proper tone when thanked for taking the time to talk by stating that neither of them have a choice as they are both “contractually obligated.” So there you go.

The majority of the interview is not True Detective related, but the portion that is centers entirely around his new mustache:

"“…I’m tied to [the ‘stache] now. Because of what I do for a living…Between jobs, I just let it all grow out. I have a lot of gray in my hair and I wanted to have gray hair for “True Detective,” but it was hard because of dye jobs for other roles. I try to have as blank a canvas as possible when going into a new gig.”"

Basically all we get is a confirmation that Colin Farrel’s new mustache is for True Detective. That’s not exactly news, but it’s great to see another season two actor involved in a new interview. We’ve been looking at this new mustache for some time at this point, just in case some catching up is necessary.

Eventually we’ll get straight True Detective interviews, but for now this is about all we have. If you’re interested int he rest of the interview which goes more into Colin Farrell’s scent preferences, make sure to check out the LA Times.
