This Week in True Detective is a feature that aims to bring you the best True Detective happenings of the week. This could include breaking news, popular articles, or anything else that people found interesting or may have missed. Now on Saturday!

More from HBO

Another week gone, technically putting us closer to True Detective season two. This week saw a small interview with Colin Farrell and the celebration of April Fools Day. We hope that you weren’t fooled by our own ultra, super-convincing joke. And if you were, we didn’t mean to shake the foundation of your life to its very core. But sometimes these things happen.

Let’s get to it.

  • The X-Files is coming back, and we examined whether or not the success of True Detective had anything to do with it.
  • In a recent interview Colin Farrell said that he had a tough time gaining weight for True Detective’s second season, though we haven’t noticed much difference in all those leaked pics.
  • HBO Now is launching this month in time for Game of Thrones. Will you be watching True Detective through the new streaming service? In other HBO news, Sling TV users will soon have access as well.
  • April Fools! Justin Bieber and Martha Stewart to star in True Detective’s third season? Sheer madness!
  • A remake of The Magnificent Seven which True Detective’s Nic Pizzolatto worked on is moving forward.
  • We wonder just when — and how — we’ll learn about the rest of True Detective’s production mysteries while taking a look at where everything stands.

And that’s everything that went down with True Detective this past week. Don’t tell us that we never did anything nice for you. If you’re up to some True Detective related shenanigans this weekend, please don’t hesitate to let us know on Facebook or Twitter.
