More from HBO

There may not have been any major True Detective news this week, but that doesn’t mean it was slow. We were treated to a  slew of new interviews from some True Detective actors, though they’re still not able to go into very much detail. Also, we have a new poll! Please make sure to cast your vote.

Let’s begin.

  • True Detective season one alum, Matthew McConaughey, has been approached but both Marvel and DC. So far he hasn’t signed on to anything and he’s not talking about the scripts he’s read.
  • In two interviews, True Detective season two’s Abigail Spencer talked about how the second season won’t be entirely different from the first and how we should expect strong females.
  • Sky Atlantic announced that it would simulcast True Detective in the UK. Viewers across the pond and beyond will be able to watch the season premiere of True Detective at 2 AM if they choose.
  • The second season of True Detective made The Daily’s Beast’s “Must Watch” list. Unsurprisingly, we agree.
  • Glamour published their full interview with True Detective season two’s Colin Farrell, and he sat down with People while at Cannes.
  • We looked into whether to not the mystery in True Detective’s second season mystery really matters if the characters are stronger, and also if True Detective will remain secretive up until the very end.
  • Finally, our new poll! We want to know what you think about the situation of strong female characters in True Detective.

And that’s your week in True Detective. If you have something True Detective related that you want to share you can reach us on Twitter or Facebook. Enjoy the long weekend!
