This Week in True Detective: Week of 7/20/2015

True Detective season two is now well into the second half. In fact, there are only three episodes left in the season. The big news item of the week involves Colin Farrell on Jimmy Kimmel Live — otherwise we had a fairly quiet week. So let’s just get right into it.

Kicking things off is our review of last Sunday’s episode, “Other Lives.” That leads directly into our analysis of the upcoming new episode, “Church in Ruins.”
True Detective’s Abigail Spencer talked about her role Gena, Ray’s wife. It’s an interesting read that covers True Detective and beyond.
There’s a new blog that will replace the music in the True Detective season two opener for those that aren’t fans of the Leonard Cohen tune. We set up a new poll to find out if most fans really aren’t liking the new song.
We discussed whether or not Lera Lynn will have an expanded role in True Detective season two’s final episodes and also if Nic Pizzolatto is True Detective’s worst enemy.
The ratings for True Detective season two are altogether higher than season one, though they are in a downward trend.
