This Week in True Detective brings the best of True Detective news from the past week.

A fierce snow storm is currently bearing down on the East Coast. Although this particular theme doesn’t have all that much to do with the past week of True Detective, it is impossible to ignore. The snow has become one with this edition of This Week in True Detective whether we like it or not. Good thing there was an awesome Matthew McConaughey impression going around this past week to keep our spirits up.

More from HBO

First up, True Detective has not been far from the spotlight even as we move away from the many year-end lists. One major voice has been missing, however, and that would be Nic Pizzolatto’s. Will he end up speaking out? By the way, Pizzolatto’s deal with HBO could potentially yield only a single season of True Detective.

When it come stop he future of True Detective we wondered if it would behoove it to stay so secretive. Spoiler alert: probably not. In award news, Rachel McAdams lost at the Critic’s Choice Awards for True Detective. Shocking, right?

We saw an unbelievable Matthew McConaughey impression from The Walking Dead’s Ross Marquand. Normally this bit might not make the weekly roundup, but he’s just that good. Speaking of Matthew McConaughey, Lincoln would like to have him back to help sell their new car.

Slate released their roundup of notable actors in 2015, and Colin Farrell got a nice mention. Turns out that Slate doesn’t feel that Farrell got all the credit he deserves, and we’re inclined to agree. More was also released concerning his character in the upcoming Harry Potter filmFantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Looking back to season two, we talked about a few of the True Detective season two Blu-Ray reviews that have been going around.

Next: Watch a new trailer for Woody Harrelson's Triple 9.
