This Week in True Detective: Week of 7/06/2015

This Week in True Detective is a feature that aims to bring you the best True Detective happenings of the week. This could include breaking news, popular articles, or anything else that people found interesting or may have missed.

This past week in True Detective was uneventful when it came to actual news, but that’s okay. We spent most of the week talking about last Sunday’s True Detective episode, “Maybe Tomorrow,” anyway. The third episode of True Detective’s second season marked a potential turning point in the series. But why spoil all of that here?

More from HBO

  • You can read our review of “Maybe Tomorrow” right here in case you haven’t already. True Detective  also released a short interview with Vince Vaughn talking about his character after the episode.
  • True Detective season two is missing a little of the artistry of season one, and multiple directors may be to blame. But it’s also far more complex than season one.
  • Next we took a look at what True Detective’s fourth episode may bring and how Vince Vaughn has proven himself.
  • We were somewhat surprised to learn that the overwhelming majority of True Detective fans who participated in our poll have no problem with Lera Lynn in True Detective. Lera Lynn also participated in a new interview that’s worth a read.
  • True Detective won’t be appearing at San Diego Comic Con, but Rachel McAdams is rumored to be starring in Marvels’ Doctor Strange.
  • This was the week of True Detective fans: the mystery of the crow man may have been cracked and our favorite True Detective website returned.
  • Finally, was True Detective inspired by an actual secret society? The evidence is very compelling.

And that’s your True Detective week. We hope you enjoy your weekend and will tune in with us tomorrow for True Detective season two’s fourth episode, “Down Will Come.” It marks the halfway point of the season and we’ll be there to live-tweet it.
